Yeh kya ho raha hai yaar!!! You've probably thought that before
when watching a stupid film. Well, Dil Ke Jharoke Main (DKJM) makes you ask that question
repeatedly to yourself. Here is a really stupid and senseless film that is beyond
redemption. Being the fair and equitable (though immodest) reviewer that I am, there is no
excuse for my favorite actress Manisha to act in such dribble. (Except maybe if she got
paid a lot of money.)
DKJM taxes ones nerves and defies logic. The story is of two childhood lovers who reunite through unfortunate and unbelievable circumstances.
You know, I always wondered how these little kids fall in love in some films. Do they even know what love is? The little Manisha girl is probably around five or six years old, but she sings and dances to the title song of the film without a clue about what she is saying.
I would give you the specific story of the film, but it will probably make me laugh non-stop again, like I was doing in the theater. Just don't ask (and definitely do not watch the film).
Performances are nothing to write home about either. Manisha puts in some effort here and there, but she knows the film is a clinker. Vikas Bhalla never knew how to act before, and he doesn't now. My younger brother wanted to see the film initially because he wanted to see Rattan (Mamik) from his favorite film 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' again. Thank God I made him change his mind.
Technically the film was nothing special either. Bappi's music is pretty good, but he is no longer as good as he was in the eighties. The dances were not very memorable, and direction as you can probably tell stunk.
I don't want to waste anybody's time (especially my own) by saying too much about this disaster. The film is pathetic!!!
Of course, I forgive Manisha for doing it because she can't churn out classics like '1942: A Love Story', 'Bombay', 'Khamoshi', 'Akele Hum Akele Tum', 'Agnisakshi' and 'Hindustani' daily. (Even Karisma and Kajol have had their 'Paapi Gudias' and 'Hulchuls' respectively.) We still love you Manisha, but just don't do another DKJM for a few more years. We need a breather from all that nonsense.
