A remake of a Shammi Kapoor movie (Janwar, I think), and also of the Malayalam movie "Chitram", this Satyaraj starrer disappoints to say the least. Boasting of very good credentials, (Crazy Mohan, Santhaana Bharathi), this meanders listlessly for three-fourths of the time before wrapping things up. Roja is a playful girl brought up by a family friend cum Doctor - Janakaraj. She is in love with Banuchander who woos her only for her money. She agrees to marry him and decides to forsake her wealth, only to be ditched by him for this reason. Since she has alredy mentioned this fact to her father (in the U.S.), she has to find someone to act as her husband, as her father (Kalyan Kumar) decided to pay her a visit. Janakaraj chances upon Satyaraj who agrees to play the role for a sum of money.
The scene shifts to Ooty as they decide to spend the time at their estate, managed by R.Sunderrajan and his surreptious family out to usurp the wealth. Satyaraj and Roja don't get along well at first, but later she falls in love with him. Satyaraj also manages to thwart a plan to rob Roja of her inheritance. Just as things seem to be quietening down, enters Vijayakumar, a cop, hot on the trail of Satyaraj, who is wanted for the murder of his wife. Watch the rest on Video or the screen. Crazy Mohan's dialogue barely pass muster as does Santhaana Bharathi's direction. Satyaraj looks out of place in this movie. Roja comes out good, but Janakaraj and R.Sunderrajan manage to irritate you out of your senses. The less said about the music, the better. Watch it if you must,
