Education For Elementary School

The name, "Middle school", itself suggests that it is the transition stage between the carefree days of "Elementary school" and the high pressures of the "High school".

The most prominent feature is that the children do not have a single classroom anymore. They start getting used to the idea of going from classroom to classroom for each different subject(as they do in high school). However they do have one subject class, which they call their home room. This home room is assigned by the school administrator and any information or notices are posted here.

They can keep their belongings in their assigned locker, even though they still have to carry their heavy backpacks from classroom to classroom.

Middle school starts from seventh grade. If only 7th and 8th grades are together then it is called Middle School. It has a more nurturing environment. If 7th, 8th and 9th are together, it is called Junior High. Junior High mocks the High School in the real sense. The children are expected to be more independent and self dependent.

More course choices are offered to the students. Some courses are required like Math, English, Social Studies, Science and P.E. They have choices when it comes to Electives namely Languages(Spanish and French), Fame(dancing), Wood Working, Keyboarding, Drama etc.

The exposure to SAT exams takes place in 8th grade. The concept of GPA also starts at this time. The students have to start making up their minds, as to what electives they would be choosing in High school.
