A Thin Line Between Love & Hate

Some reputed schools of thought,
had argued and fought,
but, to put an end to the debate,
'twas announced, "There indeed is just,
a thin line between love & hate",
as thin as the promises signed on the dotted
    lines for war & peace,
and haven't you and I, seen plenty of these,
as thin as some misunderstandings
that lead to pleasure & pain,
as thin as the margins of worldly loss & gain,
as thin as the veil between the salt of my tears
& the honey of her lips,
which, you know, is one of those love-hate relationships,
about this argument which might have clinched
    the debate in favour,
it definitely did something to the general flavour,
for thoughts that were chaste,
complained of bad taste,
it came up as just another matter of fact,
a lot of criticism, it did attract,
but again, it seemed a way of the world,
    from which you cannot retract,
and since it is a bit deviant from the default,
I would advise, you take it with that pinch of salt,
try to digest it, if you want,
    but don't ask me how,
"Why is it, that in a fit of anger,
you express the intention, in hate,
and in a rage of passion, you
perform that very act, in love ?"
