My way was so lonely
So hard and long.
I met a stranger on the way
And asked her to come along.

The stranger was so beautiful
The most enchanting ever seen.
She had a smile so heavenly
An angel she could've been

She led me to the shadow 
Out of the heat of the sun.
She served me and helped me
I knew love had begun.

In dark she held my hand
Her smile lit up the night.
I told her, "never leave me
Please, never leave my sight."

She bid me take it easy
She told me to be strong.
She said, "don't be hasty,
Don't forget what's right and wrong."

I said, "I can't think
My judgement has been shot
Please just stay here
I can't leave what I got."

She then said she will stay
For eternity we will have each other.
She said she will be my wife
And to my child she'll be a mother.

Then came the storm
The storm that took her away.
The storm that broke the promise
She promised she would stay.

Once again I am lonely
Again the trails are long.
I have broken down now
Never again can I be strong.
