| A Battle So Dubious |
I fight in a dubious battle… What do I exist for? Why should I bother exerting my presence? Life is meaningless yet death is meaningful Words and phrases… They kill us or break us Beliefs and country… They are distant connotations of God and loyalty Reason is a vague terrain… Filled with too many indistinguishable lines I fight in a dubious battle… What do I strive for? Why should I bother thinking about my thoughts? Life is hell yet death is heaven Feelings and emotions… They drain us or inflame us Wars and negotiations… They are a bleary symbol of peace and meaning Thought is a great big burden… Filled with too many sharp needles I fight in a dubious battle What do I fight for? Life is a prison yet death is freedom Stories and poems… They inspire us or dishearten us God and religion… They are an obscure allusion to the imaginary world beyond Love lies between the realm of illusion and reality… Filled with finite dreams I fight in a dubious battle You fight in a dubious battle What do we strife for? Is it country? Or is it religion? Is it beliefs? Or is it death? Is it love? Or is it just absolute freedom that we all seek?
