I take a look around me
Things have changed a lot,
I feel like I have missed so much 
Since I was a little tot.

The world just moves so quickly, 
It never gives me time 
To really stop and think about
The steps I have to climb.

I've heard the adults complaining 
About being pushed around the bend,
"Life is like a war" they say,
"you've got to stay and defend".

Defending is my weakness,
Sometimes I just give in, 
Then I realise that if I try
Eventually I can win

Things are getting different now,
I'm growing up too fast!
I wish the world would slow down
So I could catch up at last!
