| At First |
At first I didn't believe you, Or anything that you said was true. I was afraid that I would get hurt again And it is my heart that I would have to mend. I gave my all for a guy in my past, But it wasn't the one to last. As time went by, I knew that you will never make me cry. I have finally come aware, Of how much you really do care. I thought at first you were just lying, And had visions of me crying. When you first said "I love you", I thought for sure that we would be through. Everything you told me, I thought, "yeah right", And even now, we haven't had a fight. Now I can't imagine why I ever doubted your love, And I thank God above, He has put you here with me, And I hope in my arms you will always be.
