The Importance Of A Red Rose

Red rose laid upon a grave,
Lost love the grave bade,
Tears roll down the cheek
Of the lover left behind.

So long ago they were together,
And long ago they were in hate,
Upon a disagreement awful seek,
That sealed their brokenhearted fate.

Never to come back again,
Buried in the ground,
Red rose the only communication,
The only cold love to be found.

His resentment of words,
Her prayers of conversation,
Both apologies and apparitions,
No love yet to be shaken.

Wishful thoughts set on the grave,
The only love all has laid.
Fears of loneliness,
Haunted by heartache and pain.

The depression soon set in,
Life's black grief was all too visible.
Lonely lover soon died too,
Softly like a pressed rose, dry and brittle.
