Channa dal - 3 cupsOnions - 2 largeGreen chilies - 6Curry leaves - FewCoriander leaves - 1 bunchGinger - 1-inch pieceGarlic - 3 flakesCinnamon - 1 small stickFeennel seeds ( somp) - 1 tab spoonCloves - 3oil - For deep frySalt to taste -

Method:
Soak the channa dal for two hours and drain it.Mince finely the onions, green chilies, coriander and curry leaves. Crush ginger,garlic,cinnamon,fennel seeds and cloves together. Grind the channa dal with salt into coarse grains. Mix everything nicely to make a dough. Make the dough into flat rounds. Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry the dough rounds in oil to golden brown on both side. Drain the oil and serve with tomato ketch-up or chutney.
