Green Chicken

This is a meat dish for meat lovers who sometimes feel guilty of not eating enough greens!

Ingredients:

  • Chicken   -   2lbs
  • Ginger paste   -   1 tbsp.
  • Garlic paste   -   1 tbsp.
  • Cloves   -   4
  • Cinnamon   -   1 inch stick
  • Cardamom   -   3 to 4
  • Red chilli   -   2 (Dried)
  • Onion   -   2 large (Puree)
  • Tomatoes   -   1 large
  • Chopped spinach (frozen will do fine)   -   10 0z
  • Oil   -   Enough to fry chicken

Method:

First wash chicken well & marinate in onion, ginger & garlic paste. Heat oil & put in the garam masala in the order - chillies, clove, cinnamon, cardamom. Once it is fried add the chicken mixture & fry till half done. Meanwhile cook spinach with 2 tbsp water in microwave for 7-8 mins. Puree the spinach in a blender. After frying chicken add the tomatoes & fry for another 3-4 mins. Now add the spinach & let it simmer for 20 mins or till chicken is done. The oil will separate once it is cooked. Serve hot with roti or nan.
