Channa dal Kosumbri This is easy to make, healthy and tasty.can be served as an late evening snack or as salad with lunch or dinner.Great way to make fussy children get some proteins and fibers. Ingredients:
Method:1. Wash and soak channa dal in room temperature water for 3-4 hours. drain and keep in a serving bowl. 2.Wash, peel and grate carrots in a medium pored grater. 3.Wash, remove the stem, and chop chillies finely/cut them into thin rings,for its easy for children to pick out them later. 4.Wash and chop coriander leaves. 5.Mix carrots, green chillies and coriander leaves and sugar with the channadal. 6.just before serving mix in salt, lime juice and toss gently. 7.taste it and correct seasoning if necessary. 8.garnish with the grated coconut. P.S. do not over soak channa dal, for it will lose its natural sweetness and becomes tasteless. adding salt at the end helps in keeping the salad crisp. Hope you enjoy the recepie. |
