Ingredients:
- Colocasia leaves (remove stalk and slice off centre stem) - 9
- Wheat flour - 1 cup
- Gram flour (Besan), sieved - 1 cup
- Rice flour - 1 cup
- Onion, grated (optional) - 1
- Chilli powder - 2 tbsp.
- Tamarind pulp - Squeezed from lemon sized ball
- Jaggery - grated - Big ball double the size of the tamarind ball
- Coriander and cumin (Dhana - jeera) powder - 2 tsp
- Salt - 2 tsp
- Coriander leaves, minced - For garnishing
Method:
Mix all flours, onion, chilli powder, tamarind pulp, jaggery, coriander and cumin (dhana - jeera) powder and salt with enough water to make a thick paste. Apply the mixture on the leaves and make rolls. Steam the rolls for 20 minutes without weight. Cool. Slice the rolls. Serve garnished with coriander leaves or grill in an oven at 200 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes till brown.
