KOLKATA: Causing discomfort to the Mamata Banerjee government for a minister’s alleged move to shield a TMC councilor in the killing of a police officer in Garden Reach, West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan today said that the minister had no business to do it. Stating that the police should act on the list of accused named in the FIR, the Governor said that investigation had started. “Let’s see. We should uphold law and order,” the Governor said after visiting the family of the slain SI in their Thakurpukur residence. Hakim had yesterday said he did not believe that the TMC councilor was involved in the incident. He had also said that questionable elements could stand behind him at programs and as people’s representative he could not prevent it. |
