On Saturday, April 6, 2013, internationally renowned yoga expert Vasanthi Bhat will lead a three-hour seminar, "Magical Touch of Hatha Yoga" at the Jewish Community Center, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto.
Bhat’s family yoga sessions are very popular with parents and children alike. Children’s teachers have reported marked improvements in their performance at school due to increased attention span and discipline. Children with allergies and asthma have been able to overcome these conditions. And many kids have been able to keep their vision problems in check through eye exercises. Parents have the unique advantage of being able to relax in the class along with their children. The April 6 program will showcase short yoga routines by Bhat and her students that promote healing, energy, concentration, flexibility, cardiovascular health and fitness. These routines help alleviate conditions such as allergy, asthma, neck, shoulder and back pain, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, anxiety, insomnia, obesity, diabetes and blood pressure. A key focus of the program is the use of simple yoga techniques to help maintain inner harmony and prevent and heal stress-induced diseases. Leading physicians will explain the physiological basis for the benefits of Yoga techniques. EVENT DETAILS Chief guest: Talat Hasan, Founding Chair, ICC
