Melbourne, June 27 (PTI) Former fast bowler Merv Hughes feels Cricket Australia's caution against on-field sledging will only put Ricky Ponting's men under more pressure when they cross swords with England in their bid to retain the Ashes.
To avoid any unwanted controversy during Ashes series, starting in Cardiff on July 8, CA had advised its players to refrain from on-field sledging.

"It's easy to say in the coolness of a boardroom but when players are out there trying to win a Test match for Australia and the adrenalin is going, they're not thinking about being a role model," Hughes said.

Hughes does not see anything wrong in sledging within limits as, he feels, it only adds to the cricketers' mental toughness.
