Bangalore: Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) condemned the violence in Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) and areas of Assam and has requested the members of each community to respect life. IAMC has contacted the state administrations of Uttar Pradesh and Assam to take the essential steps to re-establish peace in the states and to extend a helping hand to homeless people and those who have been re-located. "The scale of violence and destruction and the magnitude of the human tragedy that is currently unfolding require swift and decisive action from the government to enforce law and order", said Shaheen Khateeb, President of IAMC. He also added that, ‘’the government should also ensure that relief camps are equipped with adequate food, water, medicines and sanitary facilities for the displaced people". Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) is an advocacy group which intends to safeguard the tolerant and pluralist philosophies of the nation. |
