Mumbai, Oct. 24 (NNN): country’s batting hero Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has been declared fit to play in the third Test against Australia at Nagpur, starting from October 26.
Tendulkar will be on a plane to Nagpur on Sunday, Indian cricket team physio Andrew Leipus told reporters in Mumbai.

The master batsman, who underwent a fitness test at the MIG club in suburban Bandra, batted for 30 minutes in two sessions.

"I am very happy to be able to play in the Nagpur Test," Tendulkar said adding he is feeling pretty confident and comfortable.

Tendulkar has been out of cricketing action since mid-August due to tennis elbow.

The master batsman has missed country’s two Tests against visiting Australia played so far. India is down 1-0 in the 4-match series having lost the Chennai Test.

The Test at Bangalore was drawn as the crucial fifth day’s play was washed out due to rain.

Australia has not won a Test series in India for the past 35 years having won their last series way back in 1969.
