Dhaka, Nov 1 (PTI) Bangladesh authorities today launched an enquiry into the factory violence that killed three people and injured nearly 100 at the suburban Tongi area and cases were filed against 3,000 people.
Officials said a five-member inquiry committee headed by the labour and employment secretary was formed to investigate the Nippon Garment Factory violence, and has been asked to submit a report in next two weeks.

Meanwhile, police said the death toll in yesterday's incident rose to three as an injured worker succumbed to his wounds at the Dhaka medical College Hospital where a dozen others were being treated with critical injuries.

Angry workers protesting the closure of a factory without any prior notice and the payment of their wages, had clashed with police.

A police spokesman confirmed the third death identifying the victim as a mason.
