Abuja, Nov 9 (PTI) Nigeria has stepped up surveillance at its borders and international airports to monitor all entries so as to prevent the spread of swine flu, after a nine-year- old girl tested positive in the south western city of Lagos.
Surveillance teams have been appointed at all border crossings to control inter-border spread of the H1N1 virus, Lagos state minister for health Jide Idris said today.

Lagos state government has set up a combined surveillance team with the federal government which has fully commenced operations in all international borders and entries.

"The team had commenced operations in Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Seme and Idiroko borders with Republic of Benin," Idris told PTI.
