I could hardly believe she was moving out. I rushed home. The long run down the narrow lane consumed all my energy. My body was covered with sweat, and I was breathing heavily. I knocked on the door a couple of times. She walked swiftly and opened the door. She didn't speak a word. I leaned on the door and looked at her.

She slowly disappeared into her room.

Leaving the door open, I walked behind her.

Her room was in a mess. She was pulling her clothes from the closet and stuffing her suitcase. Her suitcase refused to take any more. She kneeled down on the floor and closed her suitcase.

I walked beside her, and touched her shoulder. She turned her head and smiled at me.

"Are you angry at me ?", I questioned.

"No, how could I ever be"

"Then...why do you wanna move out. Can't you stay here ?".

"No...I have to", She replied.

"Can*t change your decision ?"

"Nope..It's too late".

"Is it because I'm fat, ugly and stupid ?".

"There are many more reasons which I feel you'll never understand".

She dragged her suitcase and walked out of the house through the door, which I had left open.

"Need a hand ?", I asked. She didn't reply.

She opened her car trunk and placed her suitcase inside. After closing the trunk, she walked towards me.

Tiny droplets of sweat rolled down my forehead. I could barely speak with my parched throat. I looked into her eyes. Her eyes were misty. I wished she would hug and kiss me. But she didn't. Instead she whispered in my ears, "Dream ... Dreams do come true if you work hard to achieve it".

I wanted to touch her. But it was too late. She started her car. "I Love you", I yelled. She didn't hear me, because of the rumbling noise of her car engine.

The car slowly disappeared from my sight.

I sat on the door steps and looked at the lane. It was empty as it always was.
