Kaadhalukku Mariyaadhai was one of the New Year releases, with a lot of hype and it certainly kept up to its word. Baby Shalini returns in this film with a good performance and Illayaraajah's music is unbelievable.

This is a typical Vijay movie. It follows in the footsteps of Poovae Unnakkaka and Love today. Love today emphasized on "Kaathalai Kattru Mara", that's learn love and forget it, when it doesn't succeed. This film says love is bliss when it gets the blessing from your parents, brothers, etc. It also tries to give a message to all parents, to understand the sacrifices their children make because of the love and affection they have for them. If parents start realising this a lot of problems could be solved.

Anyway the story line briefly,
Vijay & Shalini in Kaadhalukku MariyaadhaiVijay falls in love with Shalini, who has 3 brothers(eldest being Raatha Ravi). The brothers are totally against the union. The confrontation leads to Shalini falling in love with Vijay. Both the brothers and Vijay's parents do not approve their love. Now enters Manivannan! The rest of the story is about how both the lovebirds get the green signal from their parents.

Shalini's performance is superb. 'Achaam', 'Madam', 'Naanam' all come to the fore in her acting.  The direction, story line and the music play an important role. You have to see it to enjoy the movie. Vijay is at his usual best. Sivakumar, Raatha Ravi and Sri Vidya also give a good performance.

Tamil Music lovers, Illayaraajah is back!!!!!!!! What a performance. Anyone who loves Illayarajah's music will certainly love this. Ennaith Thalatta Varuvaala, what a song!!! Hariharan's singing and Illaiyaraajah's music seem to be lethal. Whoever wrote the lyrics keep it up. Please listen to the lyrics as well.

I will recommend this movie to everyone and certainly to all the lovebirds out there. I hope it makes some unions possible.
